Kenton Kidz Care

In an ongoing attempt to make our learners more aware of how fortunate they are, we run a number of projects throughout the year where we try to encourage those who have to share with those who don’t. Some of the projects we have recently undertaken.

Projects include:

- Food Hampers

From time to time we have a Civvies Day where learners get to wear their “civvies” for the day. They pay R10 and have to bring a non-perishable food item. These are packed by volunteer parents, into hampers which are distributed to our own Kenton families in need.

- Toys for Joy

Each year we collect toys which are no longer played with and these are fixed up by group of men from the church and distributed to those less fortunate than ourselves.

- Clothes

We also collect old clothes and distribute to the needy.

- Madiba Month/Day

The school will participate in Madiba month/day activities to ensure we give back to our children and community.

- Slipper Day

Donations are given to the ” Reach for a dream ” foundation to assist children from terminally ill diseases.

- Hospice

“Pink Bins Collection” Clothing items are collected for the hospice charity shop.

Charity Drive

Kenton Primary School is proud to announce that, through the collective effort of our learners, parents, and staff, we were able to donate a significant collection of food, treats, and personal care items to I Matter NPO.

These donations allow for the creation of essential care packs containing soap, toothpaste, and sanitary towels—items that go a far way in restoring dignity to those in need. It has been a privilege to collaborate with I Matter for our Term 1 outreach, and we thank our entire community for their overwhelming generosity.
