Learners Code Of Conduct

Learners are expected to be loyal to the school and to do everything possible to enhance the reputation of Kenton Primary School.
Learners are to assist in keeping the buildings and grounds neat and clean. All litter is to be placed in the bins provided.
Learners may not bring discredit to the school by any unseemly behaviour in any public place or while visiting another school.
Learners, while on the school premises or in school uniform outside the school premises, may not be in possession of alcohol, tobacco or drugs.
Learners waiting for public transport after school shall do so in an orderly fashion and shall behave in accordance with the instructions of the driver or official in charge.
Behaviour on corridors and staircases must be orderly and learners are to move quickly and quietly between classes.
Learners may not leave the school grounds during school hours without the knowledge of the secretaries in the front office. Failure to do so will be seen as bunking. Parents are to provide written permission for their children to be “signed out” by anyone other than themselves.
Learners of Kenton Primary School must be courteous and respectful to adults and one another at all times.

Learners are to have respect for their school uniform at all times.
Fighting or bullying will not be tolerated.
There will be no intimate physical contact while in school uniform or on the school premises.
Theft and vandalism will not be tolerated. School property is to be respected at all times.
Learners are not permitted to have visitors on the school premises at any time.
Discrimination, of any form, against race, gender or religion will not be tolerated.
All learners at Kenton have the right to learn without distraction from other learners.
The learners at Kenton accept that the teacher is in authority in their class and they will abide by the rules drawn up for each class.

Kenton has a zero tolerance for bullying

Pupils who constantly bully others will be reported to their parents immediately and a plan of action decided on. We expect parents to play their part in the disciplining of their children. Teach your child to have respect for rules and to own up to, and take responsibility for, their own mistakes. Let us bring up a generation of adults who are able to be accountable and not constantly seek to blame others. This example needs to come from the adults around them.
